Welcome to my parlor, where we make dreams come true one stytch at a time...

A white teacup and saucer next to a plate of cookies, placed on a grey table. The background is out of focus, and has a pink rose on a white cloth.

Come in, come in, you're just it time for tea! Let me take your coat, the hearth is plenty cozy without it.What? Oh, no, dear you are not late. You cannot be late to your own dream. Why am I here in your dream then? Well, you tell me! It's your dream, not mine!Clothing? Oh yes, that does ring a bell. I do very love to sew, and many more besides....

Oh, you would like to discuss business? Why didn't you say so! Come along, we may have better accommodations in the Study.

Let's get down to business, shall we?

A dimly lit table with a sprig of white flowers on an old, open book. Next to the book is a half full coffee mug, a water cup for painting, and a watercolor illustration of the flower specimen. The text appears to be in Thai

I love what you've done to the place, it's so cozy.Oh right, business.Well, you have come to the right place, to make your dreams come true. No better to dream than in your own head!So what do I do? Well, whatever you need of me, of course! Yes, I know that isn't helpful, so let me elaborate.
What I do, is I take whatever it is you can dream up and make it reality. Within reason of course, I only have so many miracles on hand at a time. And preferably to deal with cloth, yarn, or leather. I can, if you would rather, teach you the skills to make your own.
What's the catch, you say? Ah yes, I see Wesley has already made an impression on you, "nothing in life is free".I do take compensation, yes, in currency used by the reality your dreams come true in.A price list? I suppose I will have a look to see if I may find it, yes?

For lessons, I charge by the hour, at $30 per.I require the payment at the beginning of each lesson, and will reschedule if payment cannot be made. Most wish to bring projects of their own design to make, and that is highly encouraged! If one does not have their own project, I provide a simple one that gives most basic knowledge necessary to complete larger projects. My instruction style is similar to Gentle Parenting in effect. During wearable projects, I focus on fitting the garment to compliment the body, not insist on the body complimenting the clothing. If I do not know the answer to a question, reliably my answer will include "I have no clue, but lets find out!" in some form or fashion.I can instruct on both machine and by hand, whatever is preferred.I am not yet set up for distance learning, but I do hope that I can make that happen in the near future.

For custom projects, the price is largely dependent on the work itself, and cannot reasonably be given without knowing what will be involved.
If you would like to get a quote, I invite you to visit my letterbox and mail me an inquiry.

I do make and sell book sleeves, as a request of a very dear friend of mine. These typically are on sale through a local book store, Tall Stories.
I do take them on commission, if you wish to have something not already available.

Allow me to introduce myself

My name is Anthony Stark, and I am your gracious host this eve. Yes, this is actually my name.
Located in Rock Hill, SC, I welcome all sorts of guests here to my parlor for a chat and perhaps a lesson or two. I have been sewing for over twenty years, and grew up in both a historic home as well as the local cosplay community.
I have a passion for reconstructive textile forensics, which is simply a fancy way of saying I enjoy learning how our ancestors made their linens, frills, and flounces. I got my humble start when I offered to make my best friend her wedding gown, and though there was much to improve upon, was quite a success.
I frequently spend my spare time perusing old sewing manuals, listening to philosophical dissertations on esotericism, and playing Stardew Valley, much to the chagrin of anyone who wishes for my attention.
I do not have a pet to share your acquaintance with, but would like to spotlight my friend's cat, Gemini, who has decided I have hung both the moon and the stars, and would much rather I not work so much. Busy hands mean I cannot be petting her.
I am a committed husband, a member of the queer and disabled community, and a practicing heathen and witch.
I stand in solidarity with unions, BIPOC communities, and veterans.
Just remember, hope saves lives, so keep dreaming.
